THE INTERSECTION OF HISTORY AND FUTURE
“Kyobashi Edogrand”, one of the most comfortable places in Tokyo, is comprised of two buildings that have been part of a preservation and renovation project. One is a historical building, the “MEIDI-YA Kyobashi building”, and another is the new redevelopment building.
Looking From Chuo Dori (Chuo Street), the “MEIDI-YA Kyobashi building” is on the right side, and the low-rise part of the redevelopment building is located on the left side. They are situated in consideration to the cityscape scene they are a part of with special regards to the height of the building.
The low-rise part of the redevelopment building has a glass façade, it emphasizes the contrast with the historic design of the MEIDI-YA Kyobashi building and their appearance compliments each other.
In the galleria , about 31m of an expansive space located in the central of the lower part of the buildings, there are various open spaces into each floor where people can experience sunlight and also catch a breeze on the terrace.
